After poor and disappointing responses from Animal Shelters earlier in 2013, two school going girls, have taken an initiative to give a few of Kolkata’s stray dogs the basic care they require for survival in the unforgiving streets of the city.
Avantika and Anushka have taken care of 19 dogs so far, in Calcutta. What pushed them to do this was the extremely disheartening responses from Animal Shelters across the city when they required extensive care for 6 motherless pups. After the death of 2 pups from the initial 6 they decided to start providing them with food and more importantly, the attention and love and they deserve.
They soon started to notice other needy strays in their locality and have now started reaching out to them. They intend to expand and speak for those who can’t.
However,their main constraint is the fact that they're merely school going children and therefore have a very limited budget.Your contribution would be of great support to them.They do not accept monetary contributions and just need your help to supply them with their requirements that they put up on their page.
This is a very sincere effort by two teenagers and I hope that they succeed in their endeavor.
